Mercedes Benz has launched its new luxury limousine S-Guard in India. The car is priced at Rs.6 crore (ex-showroom).
The Pricing of the car is justified as it offers advanced protective features to provide safety from ballistic and firearms attacks. The car is targeted at celebrities, politician, industrialist and corporate leaders.
The car will be imported in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) which is the main cause for the pricing of the car, as it attracts 110% custom duty. The car is developed on the basis of Mercedes Benz S600.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Guard is powered by 12 cylinder bi-turbo 5513 cc engine which delivers a power of 517HP and a torque of 830Nm. The car can attain a stop speed of 210 km/h.
The car offers many safety features which includes fire-extinguishing system, run-flat tyres ,self sealing fuel tank, door gaps, door locks and roof frame struts are also incorporated in to the security concept. Other safety measures includes airbags, side airbags, windowbags, belt tensioners and NECK-PRO head restraints.
